Our Level 3 class is for children around four years old. These students can read simple words well, write words by themselves, as well as talk freely about various topics. The following is what your child will experience on a daily basis as a student in Eagle’s Level 3 class:
Phonics/Reading
This class focuses on basic phonics and the alphabet. At this level, students can read and write three letter words and continue writing sentences. This class builds off of the level 2 class, by introducing consonant blends. Students learn longer, more complex words and sentences.
Writing
Your child will practice writing words and sentences on their own. The teachers demonstrate how to properly write on dotted lines with spaces between each word.
Math
This class focuses on counting, recognizing written numbers, comparing numbers, and recognizing basic shapes. By the end of this level, they will learn to do simple subtraction. During math homework time they will refine their math skills learned in class by doing addition and subtraction worksheets. Depending on the level of the students currently in the class, they may continue on to learn double-digit addition with carry-over and subtraction with borrowing.
Conversation
Students in this class can easily talk about themselves and others and on a variety of topics. On top of this they will learn more complex conversations that build off of the simple grammar introduced in the previous classes. They learn more difficult grammar like the differences between “this” and “these.”
